When Punk Hit San Diego

Learn about Margarat Nee’s effort to archive San Diegos punk music subculture of the 1970s and 80s and get a look at the creative output that came along with the music.

Nicknamed “Slow Death” by bored kids, San Diego quickly developed a unique version of this new DIY ethic through the intersections of military, beach, and border youth cultures.

This lecture took place at the San Diego History Center in historic Balboa Park on October 9, 2018.
